Privacy Policy

CapyCash is a personal finance application that helps you track income and expenses, set budgets, and plan your financial future. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application and related services.

Account Information: When you sign in using Clerk OAuth (Google or Apple), we receive your name and email address. We do not store your password.

Financial Data: Transaction amounts, categories, labels, dates, and list assignments you enter into the app. This data is stored in InstantDB with row-level security tied to your account.

Receipt Images: If you use the receipt scanning feature, images are sent to OpenAI's Vision API for text extraction. Images are not stored on our servers after processing.

CSV Exports: When you export your transaction data as a CSV file, the data is generated on-demand and transmitted directly to your device. We do not store or log exported files.

Subscription Data: If you subscribe to CapyCash PRO, purchase information is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat. We receive subscription status but not payment details.

Clerk (clerk.com): Authentication provider handling sign-in via Google and Apple OAuth.

InstantDB (instantdb.com): Real-time database with offline-first sync and end-to-end encryption.

OpenAI (openai.com): AI processing for forecasts, scenario recommendations, and receipt analysis. Data sent to OpenAI is governed by their API data usage policy and is not used for model training.

RevenueCat (revenuecat.com): Subscription and in-app purchase management.

Expo (expo.dev): Mobile app development platform and update delivery.

• All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS encryption
• Financial data is stored with row-level security in InstantDB, ensuring only you can access your data
• The app supports offline-first architecture, keeping a local copy on your device that syncs when connected
• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
• Access to production systems is restricted and monitored

Transactions, categories, and lists are retained while your account is active. If you request account deletion, all personal data is deleted within 30 days. Receipt images sent to OpenAI are not stored after processing (processed in real-time only).

If you use the CapyCash PRO MCP integration with AI assistants (e.g., ChatGPT), your financial data (transactions, categories, lists) is transmitted to those AI services to fulfill your requests. This is initiated only with your explicit setup and authentication. We do not control how external AI assistants process or retain this data; refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy for details.

• Access: View all data associated with your account within the app
• Delete: Contact leonelvargascba@gmail.com with subject "Account Deletion Request". We will process your request within 30 days and send confirmation.
• Export: Export your transaction data via CSV from the dashboard
• Correction: Edit or update any of your financial records at any time
• Portability: Request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format

CapyCash is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
